some of the personal statements in this book made me cringe, either because of something the applicant said or how bad the writing was. Suffice it to say, most of these applicants got in with their high GPA, not because of the depth in their personal essays. Since I bought this book to see examples of stellar essays, I was disappointed with the quality of writing. The tips offered before the essays weren't all that useful either--things anyone with common sense would know without having to shell out $12.

I just passed the MEGA ART test, I hope this helps

This is my first ever review on Amazon, note that this does not have any reflection on Amazon. I just took the MEGA art test yesterday... July 29, 2016 and I passed it. I did not purchase the book here but through Mometrix. This is for my fellow MO teachers who want to get certified in art. As we know, this is no longer the Praxis, and this test is nothing like the Praxis. It is totally and completely content based, and how well can you apply that content. The best place to start is the MO Educator Gateway Assessment Test Design and Framework. It will give you the Domains and Competencies. [...]

Every Competency will be on the test. All of them, and in the weight that it describes in the Framework.

So about this book. I had already been studying for the test a couple of months before I got this study guide. It completely and totally falls short. Not only is it completely unorganized but seriously... half of the competencies are even in it. For example....Domain IV–Historical and Cultural Contexts, being one of the largest domains is hardly even represented in this book. About 40 out of the 50 pages for this domain mostly covers the Byzantine and Renaissance which is only a fraction of Competency 0014.

The worst part - and I mean the worst part! The practice test. I am assuming that this practice test must be like the Praxis, because it is nothing like the real test. The Real test is going to have pictures in most of the test questions. It also seems like this practice test covers a lot of general theory of education. The REAL test does NOT.

The practice test that is a REAL reflection is the one from the MO Educator Gateway Assessment website.... for 29.95 it gives you two practice tests... and it looks exactly like it will on the real test. The only disappointment is that the second test, is the same as the first. But taking it, is like taking the real thing.

I passed this test, I have been teaching science sense the late 80s, I had no formal education, training, or experience in art, and I passed this.
My advice is to get a general Art 1 book and read every page, making notes. I used this book. Its a pdf copy of an entire Glenco art text book and its great. [...]

If you are like me, with no art experience, I also watched videos and looked at many power points. Google the Competencies adding a PPT to it and you will gave lots to choose from.

One of the best websites I found that will help is Goodbye - Art Academy. It has hundreds of very short "Visual Vocab" videos and Art History videos that are awesome! [...]

About the Author
Greg Feldmeth earned an A.B. degree from Occidental College and master’s degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, California State University at Los Angeles, and Columbia University in New York City. He has taught U.S. history for over 40 years, while also offering courses in Contemporary Ethical Issues, Globalization and Human Rights, European History, and World History.

In addition to his teaching, Mr. Feldmeth has served in a number of administrative roles, including Dean of Students, Head of the Upper and Middle Schools, and Interim Head of School. He is currently History Department Co-Chair and Assistant Head of School at the Polytechnic School in Pasadena, California. He also teaches an online course, Genocide and Human Rights, through the Global Online Academy. Mr. Feldmeth has written or edited twelve U.S. history review books for teachers and students.

Larry Krieger earned his B.A. and M.A.T. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his M.A. from Wake Forest University. Just took my AP U.S. History Exam yesterday and I must say this book helped me out so much! Not only does it clearly explain the key events of american history but it also states why they're important as well. It also connects similarities and differences between events. I would highly recommend this review book; I walked into the testing room confident from the knowledge I learned from it!

this is honestly a great review book

Even though I got a 2 on the AP exam, this is honestly a great review book. I probably would've gotten a 3 or higher if I really took my time to read, but I have taken 4 exams and passed 3 of them thanks to the Crash Course books. It's easy to read and provides several tips on what's really on the test. I would recommend reading this a few weeks before if you have other tests to study for.

Art of Love Box Set

First book I have read by this author and I am stunned. This is a delightful romantic read. An intense attraction between Sienna and Erik is inevitable. It continues to escalates every time they cross paths. Sienna and Erik want one another.
Brilliantly written, characters development through out the story has the perfect dynamics. Kitty Clare has an excellent way of writing her storyline. A magnificent ending. No cliffhangers.
If you enjoy a sweet romantic story this is the perfect read.

Private Internship is the second novel In An Art of Love. This is an incredible story about love finding you when you weren't even looking, secrets from the past, forgiveness, friendships, second chances and of course Art.
Harper recommended Sienna for an internship with the infamous artist Casper Mason. Harper is terminated. Why did Casper give her the slip?
Casper is a surprisingly, unique, eccentric character. He is constantly playing games with his intern Sienna.
Erik, is across the ocean in Europe doing a line of gallery shows.
On a dark stormy (out of all nights Halloween)night Caz and Sienna are trapped in the Caz Castle (old sugar factory where he presently resides and works). Power outage occurs and must bid their time. Candles are lit. In an attempt to find a way to keep occupied Sienna pulls out the Tarot cards and what do they reveal? Who is Casper Mason? What secrets is he concealing? Has he found the person who is going to emotionally break him?

Characters our well written and intertwine into the story. Author skillfully describes each characters personal emotional transition throughout the storyline. A fast paced read without losing any of the key elements. Magnificent ending without cliffhanger. If you enjoy a sweet,sassy,sexy romantic story this is the perfect story.

Art & Love in Manhattan!

Model Position-I love this author's books and always find them page-turners. She really knows how to create characters, worlds, and a sense of suspense. As a non-NYC artist, I really enjoyed a glimpse into the Manhattan art scene that Clare knows well. No spoilers, but I very much enjoyed the ending. Normally, I'm not a romance reader, and previous reads of this author's works different genres interested me to discover what she'd do in this one. I think her talents shine very brightly in romance, and I continue to be a devoted fan. This was a fun read and I look forward to more. Readers who like smart, edgy romance set in a juicy and interesting world will love this book!

Private Internship- I really enjoyed this story. I found the characters edgy and interesting. I enjoyed the way the author wove the elements of romance, mystery, intrigue, emotion, sexuality, and fascinating inside information about the art world, and historic elements about the sugar factory setting. I like her strong and feisty woman character and am looking forward to reading more about Sienna's adventures!

Model Position
Sienna, talented art student with cleaning issues, was trying to get an exposition for her art in a recognized art gallery. It seemed that Dave, her new suitor has the connections she needed. But there was Erick, the male model she felt attracted and he seemed attracted to her too. She has to be honest with both of them and herself. She has to decide between a rich, arrogant Dave and Erik, a model who could be struggling like her without connections in the art world. Sienna had a very assertive way to deal with her friends. She was honest and dealing with the mistruth she got from her mother exploits. Erick was offering something she needed and she went for it. This is the first book a read from this author and liked how the story was developed with a sweet HEA.
Private Internship
Sienna got an internship at Casper Mason sugar factory after he had fired Harper. When she met her new boss she was nervous. He was a stunning man but his attitude killed the effect. After Harper told her why she was fired Sienna was intrigued. She was worried about Harper’s warning but she wanted to discover the secret behind the door. She searched the Web but find nothing personal about Casper Mason. Also, his behavior was very weird like insane. Was he testing her again? Erick was overseas in his art tour and won’t come back so within a year. She felt lonely and while she was learning the job ways she began to feel attracted to Caz. Erick was such a gentleman, perhaps too much and she needed... more? This story was really good. There were some questions who needed answer quickly. What he was holding in? In this second book Sienna was more feisty taking charge without waiting for the action to happen around her. Liked the mystery, the romance, the emotions portrait through Caz, the sex (Um. Was Erick a little down in this area? Only guessing because Sienna made so many comments in this book) the intrigue and certainly how the author developed Caz character. Very different protagonist male, indeed.

Has all of the information you need without the "fluff"

The Study Guide was organized and each of the sections were well thought out. There were several examples and each problem/idea was explained in depth.

I currently have a 1 year old and am attending graduate school and with this study guide I was able to get through all of the study material in a timely manner and feel confident in the test. I highly recommend it!

The Canterville Ghost, By Oscar Wilde will truly make a good deal to be your best friend in your lonesome. It will certainly be the best partner to improve your business and also pastime.

When told that old Canterville Chase is haunted, Mr. Otis quipped that he will be pleased to take the furniture and the ghost at valuaton and moved his wife and children into the home. It is not long before the sound of clanking chains and the mysterious appearance of what appear to be blood stains by the fireplace. Mr. Otis decides to coexist with the otherworldly presence, but this coexistence may be threatened by the ghost’s interest in Otis’ daughter Virginia.

Among the first of infamous author and playwright Oscar Wilde’s published works, this 1887 short story first appeared in “The Court and Society Review”. Wilde’s wit is on display throughout this exemplary work of short fiction.

About the Author
Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an Irish writer and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Today he is remembered for his epigrams, his novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', his plays, and the circumstances of his imprisonment and early death.

Not easy being a ghost.

Indeed it isn't easy being a ghost, especially when the house you are trying to hunt becomes inhabited by Americans. A light and humorous story, and after reading it's guaranteed to stop you worrying about things that go bump in the night.

Excellent narration and a wonderful listening experience

Thanks to our local library, my daughter and I have enjoyed several playaways which are basically all-in-one audiobooks. All one needs is a triple A battery and one is set to go. At our local library, patrons are expected to supply their own batteries and headphones (the latter because of hygiene concerns). They are really small and inconspicuous so that it makes it convenient to slip into a purse, bring it along to the gym or while exercising outdoors, and also on car trips. Although it is an all-in-one audiobook, the playaway can also be heard via a CD player with the use of an adapter.

The operation of the playaway is simple - one just plugs in earphones, speakers, or a car adapter into the provided jack; press the POWER button, press the play button, and listen! There is a keypad which allows the listener to do one of the following: equalizer, Power button, speed button (choice of 5 speeds), turning volume up, turning volume down, LCD screen which indicates the status and how much battery power is left, reverse button for chapters, play/pause button, and forward chapter button.

The Canterville Ghost has always been one of my favorite stories and Rupert Degas' comic-infused narration makes this an engaging listening experience.

Description for this book needs to be rewritten.

The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde is a highly entertaining book. 5 stars for this wonderful book, I've read and re-read it many times. Whoever wrote the description for this illustrated edition for Amazon is completely mistaken. I downloaded a free sample to see if maybe there were two versions of this book but the sample that downloaded is the original book. The mistaken description states: "In the 1600s, cowardly Sir Simon of Canterville flees a duel and seeks solace in the family castle. His ashamed father seals him in the room where he is hiding and dooms him to life as a ghost until one of his descendants performs a brave deed. Simon believes he may be saved when he meets Cuffy Williams, an American kinsman stationed with a troop of soldiers at the castle in 1943. Will this blood relative save the family honor, or will his blood be as yellow as the rest of the Cantervilles?" Perhaps that's describing a different novel? No matter though, the true book is much more entertaining and the illustrations for this edition are quite nice.
