Don't buy this book

Very limited information on just a small percentage of the topics that appear on the exam. Some information in the book is WRONG, which seems ridiculous for a study guide. Examples: in the geography section: It says that Borneo and New Guinea are countries. (Borneo is one of many Indonesian islands, New Guinea is an island that includes part of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.) It also says that "North America consists of the United States and Canada." (Obviously, North America actually consists of 23 countries, not 2.)
I passed the tests by abandoning this book and just printing out the standards available online and looking up information related to each one, one by one.

This practice book is a prefect prepare resource for my Ctel exam. It is not only because it contains rich sample questions and practice sets, it also provides answers with detailed explanations. Moreover, it explain clearly that why the right answers are correct and why the other answers are wrong. Therefore, it helps me to understand the content more deeply. I will certainly recommend this book to my classmates for who are going to take the exam in future.

I believe this test review book was helpful for the test. I used it with a textbook that contained the material. This book only contains test practice questions but that is what I expected. I would use it again as a study resource. I'm still waiting for my test results but believed this book helped me do well.

Essential practice test book for the CTEL

Happy to have found these practice tests, since I passed all three tests (took them all in one day). I would have liked more practice essay questions with sample answers-I didn't feel prepared for the questions I got on the actual test.
The two full tests had all different questions for each subtest. Could have had more questions on teaching to specific levels of English proficiency, but I'm satisfied overall.

A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.

Mac and Kelly have known each other since childhood and have been in love with each other for just as long. Too bad neither one of them will admit it to the other. This is a quick read (roughly 58 pages) so there is not a ton of in-depth stuff to deal with. However in this short story, the author is able to convey how the main characters are feeling. I felt bad for Mac and wanted to slap Kelly a couple times because they wasted so many years together. After much confusion, disagreements, some angst and one hot sex scene, there finally is a HEA. Definitely worth the short amount of time to read this one.

a beautiful love story about misunderstandings and second chance

Another short love story by this awesome author that has you reliving your own teenage years. This was a fast paced well written storyline without any stalls or slow spots. The characters were easy to relate too and so was the plot. Everyone has something that happened when they were teenagers that helped shape and define the person you became. Sometimes we also have regrets and if we are lucky we are given the opportunity to make things right . This was a beautiful love story about misunderstandings and second chance. I look forward to seeing what this author comes up with next.

Wishes do come true.

Sweet short story about misunderstandings leading to second chances. Mac and Kelly have loved each other since child hood. Always best friends, it was senior year when jealousy, pride and misperceptions lead to estrangement. It is years later, when the opportunity for a second chance to reconnect presents itself. Fear and hurt pride are still factors to be dealt with but with maturity comes wisdom. Lovely watching these two learn to stand tall, forgive and overcome the fear to be vulnerable. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.

DON'T BUNDLE WITH PREMIER VERSION

This book was "bundled" for me through amazon... This book is the exact same as the "NCLEX-RN PREMIER 2015-2016". The only difference is that the "PREMIER" version has the 2 practice tests. Very bugged that they were bundled together. I didn't realize they were the same book. The practice test in this book is Exactly the same as the Premier version as well. Do not purchase this book. Spend an extra few bucks for the Premier version. DO NOT BUNDLE WITH PREMIER. I wish i had looked into that before purchasing it.

These are the concepts presented in the Kaplan course, so if you're a self-mediated learner, it's worth it to purchase and save a few bucks instead of attending the in-class version. The book arrived intact, clean, and within the shipping timeframe promised. Passed NCLEX in 75 questions with the help of a few of these strategies.

These early works by Robert E. Howard were originally published in the early 20th century and we are now republishing them with a brand new introductory biography. 'The Tales of Breckinridge Elkins' is a compilation of Howard's short stories in the Breckinridge Elkins series and include 'The Apache Mountain War', 'No Cowherders Wanted', 'Mountain Man', and many more. Robert Ervin Howard was born in Peaster, Texas in 1906. During his youth, his family moved between a variety of Texan boomtowns, and Howard – a bookish and somewhat introverted child – was steeped in the violent myths and legends of the Old South. At fifteen Howard began to read the pulp magazines of the day, and to write more seriously. The December 1922 issue of his high school newspaper featured two of his stories, 'Golden Hope Christmas' and 'West is West'. In 1924 he sold his first piece – a short caveman tale titled 'Spear and Fang' – for $16 to the not-yet-famous Weird Tales magazine. Howard's most famous character, Conan the Cimmerian, was a barbarian-turned-King during the Hyborian Age, a mythical period of some 12,000 years ago. Conan featured in seventeen Weird Tales stories between 1933 and 1936 which is why Howard is now regarded as having spawned the 'sword and sorcery' genre. The Conan stories have since been adapted many times, most famously in the series of films starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

God's Loving Grace

Writing with unusual candor, Lee draws upon his own journey from atheism to Christianity to explore the depth and breadth of God’s redeeming love, including stories from those whose lives have been radically changed after discovering the “how” and “why” behind God’s amazing grace….

My Review:
This is a non-fiction book written for teens to show them how important grace is. Mr. Stobel tells stories of himself and others who have been blessed by God’s loving grace. He begins this book with himself and his relationship with his own father, Stephanie, who is orphaned and is told she is worthless from a very young age, then Jud, the addict, Craig, the good-guy, who didn’t feel he needs grace, the Nazi war criminals and Comrade Duch of the Khmer Rouge, to Cody Huff, a street person and etc. Mr. Strobel shows through these stories, it doesn’t matter your status in life or the sin you have committed, there is nothing so great that God will not forgive if your repentance is honest. This forgiveness is God’s loving grace. The events and scriptures in this book show that grace cannot be purchased, it is a gift freely given by God through heart-felt honest repentance.

This would be a wonderful book to share as a devotional with your teen children.

Good illustrations of grace in action

"The Case for Grace, Student Edition" is teen nonfiction about how grace impacts people's lives. The author tells the stories of people who have been transformed by God's grace: from someone who was told she was worthless and unlovable from childhood, to the drug addict, to the good guy (do "good guys" need grace?), to the cruel mass murderer (is there anyone God won't forgive if they genuinely repent? why is this good news for everyone?), to the homeless druggie and burglar, to the evangelist's son who wanted to live wildly. The author explored what grace is, how it can transform people, and how to give and receive grace.

I don't know how this teen edition differs from the "adult" book, but it's a quick read and shared some clear examples of transforming grace. I don't think a teenager would have any problem reading or understanding the book. I'd recommend this book to anyone, but especially to those who can't quite understand the idea of God's unearned love due to growing up with approval-based family relationships.

"The Case for Grace Student Edition", the newest book by Lee Strobel and Jane Vogel is aimed at junior high and high school age students. This book is relatively short at only 132 pages, with a compilation of 8 different stories from a wide range of people who have been shown God's grace when they thought they deserved it least.

Many of the stories tugged on my heart strings but especially the second entitled "The Orphan". It was about a young child who was abandoned at only 3 years of age and ended up living on the streets with no one to love her. There are many other themes to the other chapters: "The Mistake", "The Executioner", and "The Addict" just to name a few.

The book ends with a chapter on what the Bible says about grace, and other helpful books that will give readers more insight into grace.

This is not the first book I have read by Lee Strobel but it is the first Student Edition I have read of his. I will say that the Student Edition does not have as much information as the original and I feel that makes it much easier for teens to understand. However, because of the sensitive nature of some of the topics I would suggest that this book be read by young adults 13 years of age or older.

To sum it up, I really enjoyed this book and I think it's an informative read for teenagers.

About the Author

Lori Schafer is a writer of serious prose and humorous erotica and romance. Her flash fiction, short stories, and essays have appeared in numerous print and online publications, and her first two books were published in November 2014. On Hearing of My Mother’s Death Six Years After It Happened: A Daughter's Memoir of Mental Illness commemorates Lori's terrifying adolescent experience of her mother's psychosis, while Stories from My Memory-Shelf: Fiction and Essays from My Past is an autobiographical collection featuring stories and essays inspired by other events from Lori's own life. In the summer of 2014, Lori began work on a second memoir, The Long Road Home, during the course of a two-month-long journey across the United States and Canada. She anticipates that it will be ready for publication in 2016.

Lori’s first two novels, My Life with Michael: A Novel of Sex, Beer and Middle Age and Just the Three of Us: An Erotic Romantic Comedy for the Commitment-Challenged, were released early in 2015. She is currently at work on a third novel, a sequel to Just the Three of Us. When she isn't writing (which isn't often), Lori enjoys playing ice hockey, attending beer festivals, and spending long afternoons reading at the beach in the sunshine.

Stories Hum with Vibrant Authenticity

The trance of Lori Schafer’s book “Upon Hearing of My Mother’s Death Six Years After it Happened” compelled me to search her other work. I found “Stories from My Memory-Shelf.”
I ripped through the first few, with a sense that more of the story and perhaps a little less of her commentary on the process might help. Then the story “The Second Grade” unfolded. Here is the powerful, gut felt experience of the small girl working her way through social experiences, trying to get it right. Because I had already read about the author’s teenage years, I understood how the tenuous thread with her mother both guided her and left her without real guidance as she tried to unravel the complexities of friendships, teacher relationships, boys and the wider world.
This collection hums!

"Yellow Wagon" and "Haunted" are my favorite. In "Yellow Wagon

Of the 19 short stories and essays, "Yellow Wagon" and "Haunted" are my favorite. In "Yellow Wagon," a young girl walks to school by herself for the first time. The author included two versions of this story, the unpublished version and the published version (Everyday Fiction, a short story literary magazine). Although both were good, I preferred the unpublished version. "Right on Orange, left on Revere," Debra repeated for the dozenth time, kicking away the crisp dead leaves that snapped at her feet like so many untrained puppies." (6) I really like how the author discusses many of her stories afterwards, including "Yellow Wagon."
In "Haunted," an assumed witch lives in an apartment building where a murder occurred. "But the house being haunted did so much to explain why the witch had selected the third floor apartment above ours. It seemed only natural that a servant of the devil should seek the company of restless and perhaps blood thirsty ghosts." (44)
Schafer's eclectic collection is worth checking out.

Fifty stories! There are fifty fun-size stories in this book, like a sweet Halloween trick-or-treat haul!

And, like with a sweet trick-or-treat haul, there’ll always be some that aren’t to your own particular individual tastes … into every plastic pumpkin, a few Almond Joys must fall, hey, it happens. And some people like coconut anyway. At least there’s no snack-packs of raisins, or worse, sample-size dental floss.

I know, I know, here it is only August, but I’ve got Halloween on the brain. Don’t we all? The stuff’s already showing up in stores, and unlike other holidays, for this one we say aw yeah bring it!

However, I digress. I’ve got an anthology to tell you about, and while I could list all the goodies, for space and sanity’s sake I will hit the highlights … my personal equivalents of the Snickers, Twix and Reese’s.

“Twelve Volt Existence” by Adam Millard starts things off with a zinging look at an all-too-plausible future scenario.

Maggie Carroll’s “Falling Like Flies” would be the candy equivalent of a stealth Tootsie Pop, where you start off expecting one thing and get a delicious surprise at the end, while “Something’s Wrong With Ethan” by Doug Robbins is a nice little wafer-thin mint that packs a chilling wallop.

“The Prima Donnas” by Vince Liberato is eerie, eldritch, evocative, and beautifully done, more Lovecraftian in spirit than a lot of outright Lovecraftian stories I’ve seen. Patrick Freivald’s “Trigger Warning” also triumphs with creepy atmosphere and ambitious style.

Any sense of “Apt Pupil” déjà vu you might experience while reading Arran McDermott’s “The Protégé” is only to lull you into a false sense of familiarity before flipping the tables.

The opening line of Shaun Avery’s “Apology Addicts” – I guess it was as I was sawing the little kid’s arm off that I realized how far things had gone – is all the hook anybody should need.

R.L. Ugolini’s “The Change” is a fun, well-written tale of a couple whose relationship is falling apart in more ways than one, while “Walk a Mile” by Shenoa Carroll-Bradd shows us a warm scene of family togetherness.

“The Bus Driver” by Jody Neil Ruth resonates perhaps a bit uncomfortably too well with anybody facing another dreary day’s commute; similarly, upcoming bizarro star Kerry Lipp’s “Lunch Time” offers tasty work-day revenge.

And then, just when you think you’ve polished off the entire contents of the plastic pumpkin, you might find one extra final treat waiting at the very end!

Another great mix of horror tales, from gory to psychological, and everything in between. McKinney breaks away from zombies for a disturbing tale of a different type, while Ugolini gives us another interesting take on a relationship between a wife and her man. All good stuff.

Homework Done Right shows teachers how homework assignments can connect with the curriculum and how to make it applicable to their students' lives. Educators will learn how to design and implement active, creative assignments that promote useful skills like inquiry, problem solving, and critical thinking.
