Reed Lerner started tutoring in high school and has since taught students from around the world in math, physics, and an array of standardized tests including the SAT, GMAT and ISEE. Born in Los Angeles, California, he attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with degrees in mechanical engineering and marketing.

Fun style and useful tricks. Even though I knew some techniques, I still learned other new ones.

I love the intro of this book....what is that couple in the restaurant gonna do without their trusty iphone calculator to figure out how much to tip?!?! Situations like this make me thankful for my math skills, but also somewhat worried about the future of humanity....I'm glad these authors are working towards improving that!
I'm pretty good at Math (I've been teaching SAT Math for a few years) so the first part of the e-book, "The Basics" wasn't that helpful for me. I also knew some of the tricks that the authors included. Even so, I learned some cool new techniques that I didn't know and I thought the book was well-written and engaging. It's not ground-breaking stuff, but it's a fun style and useful for pretty much anyone's day-to-day, ESPECIALLY if you have a hard time with mental math. You can fix that now!

MOST EFFECTIVE QUICK MATH READ I'VE READ!

As a finance major in college, one would think that I would be good at mental math. Quite the contrary. I bought this book because I'm currently studying for the GMAT and I've come to realize that mental math and approximation is a major improvement opportunity for me. I really recommend this book not only to people studying for the SAT/ GMAT but also to people who never quite got the hang of quick math and want to get better at it. This book is clearly written and informative, using great tips and practical examples that can be applied elsewhere. Highly recommended!
