This story is a harbinger of powerful things to come.

Laurie Mault's story, which I would guess was somewhat of a cathartic write for her, was powerful and well-told. She adequately recreated the tense horror a child feels when abuse is constant and expected, and she effectively expresses the sadness and hopelessness that goes along with it. Some writers don't have a clue how words flow together; Laurie manages to write each sentence in such a way that your eyes do not wish to close, rather they seek out the next word, the next sentence, the next page ... until you're done. The end is unexpected but not entirely surprising. I encourage Laurie to write more stories, which will, of course, force her out of her comfort zone into areas where she may not have a personal connection. (I could be entirely wrong about that ...) When this occurs, I will strongly recommend she approach every storyline with logic and reason, and to always ask herself, "What would I do if in this situation?" That applies no matter how impossible the situation seems. The ability to present the impossible in a reasonable way is what makes fiction believable. Good job, Laurie!

Monsters are real.

This story is very unsettling. To me, it vividly forces the reader to understand how the lives of children are destroyed by child rapists/abusers. It makes one understand the pain they suffer every moment of every day, not just physical pain, but mental anguish.
It's truly sad that these monsters are real.
Well written. I look forward to reading more of Laurie Mault's stories.

I do believe that Laurie did an excellent job writing this story

I do believe that Laurie did an excellent job writing this story. This little girl didn't get to have a normal childhood . Sha had no trusting adults in her life. she was in fact robbed of a childhood by monsteres that tortured her in ways little girls should never have to deal with I hope Laurie Mault writes more stories
