Another beginning, Brooks brothers style.

In this Mirror Origins short, author KG Stutts takes us back to the beginning of Seth and Logan Brooks' life stories. Stutts shows us that prior to joining the ISC, both Seth and Logan had a great many obstacles to overcome before getting to where they are now, as the characters we know and love in the Mirror Series. My only complaint is that I wish there was more! I would have loved to see more of both brothers' pre-ISC days. But all in all, A Mirrors Beginning: Seth and Logan Brooks serves as a good introduction to both characters and sheds new light on their personal histories, which makes their appearance in Mirror Image have a much greater impact.

Seth and Logan.

In the same vein as A MIRRORS BEGINNING: JOHN BROOKS, the secret pasts of John’s older brothers, identical twins Seth and Logan, are also explored. Torn from their family as well as from each other, they wind up leading very different lives before circumstances bring them together again.
In some respects, the relationship between Seth and Logan parallels that of Maddie and Mack in the trilogy. They wear the same face, but the events they’ve experienced apart from each other made them unique individuals, which is by now one of the common themes prevalent in K.G. Stutts’ series. It’s made less staggering by the fact that they are biological twins and not a clone and an original, but nevertheless it still makes for some interesting reading. As in her previous short story, Ms. Stutts cleverly touches on situations that will happen in the trilogy while getting to the heart of her characters’ personalities. Logan was always more of the serious, stoic one and Seth the easygoing, fun one. Here, in A MIRRORS BEGINNING: SETH AND LOGAN BROOKS, we understand why.
An excellent standalone entry which, like its companion piece, also takes events right back to the time of MIRROR IMAGE and provides a fitting sense of completion to the series.
